| The youngest person ever to qualify for a Grand Prix, Thackwell's rise was meteoric. Dead ends in F1 saw this prodigious talent spend 8 seasons in F2/F3000, becoming Champion in 1984. Disillusionment soon set in, and the New Zealander retired from motorsport in 1988. |
