And apparently my predictions in the last two races were silly.

Although Senna was 1st and 2nd for both of those.

Nope, I use a random number generator from 1 to 24, 1 to 18 for the fall guy.

Raikkonen in 5th is realistic though.

Nah, Alonso's better than 3rd. Perez perhaps, depends on the attrition as he could do better if a few cars drop out. Not that they do anymore.

And yes, it is for the lulz, it was originally only for the British Grand Prix, but since I wasn't last, I decided to carry it on.

Me too, but I think he could unrejectify just if only four cars will reach the end of the race (or if there's a sort of Indianapolis 2005, with just Caterhams, HRTs and Marussias racing).

Or it rains. Hard. Monsoon-like. It's halfway through the race, and Massa, Hulkenberg, Glock and Senna are already out. Rosberg aquaplanes into turn one, and slams into Vettel and Hamilton. Vettel gets a 2 race ban for punching Hamilton round the face. Webber leads, from Button and Schumacher, who spins out of control at the chicane, with Kobayashi and Paul di Resta synchornise spinning into turn 1. Alonso spins 360 on the short back straight, damaging his front wing and suspension, but manages to keep going. Romain Grosjean swerves to avoid the rejoing Fernando, and loses control, binning it into the wall, forcing him out of the race. Webber comes into the pits for full-wets, and so does Button. Meanwhile, Perez and Pic already have full wets on, and are first to the line when the red flag stops the race. There is complete confusion over who is where, and Alonso had retired. At this point, Perez is 1st, Pic is 2nd, Webber is 3rd, Button is 4th, Kovalainen 5th, Maldonado 6th, Raikkonen 7th, PDLR 8th, Vergne 9th, Ricciardo 10th, Karthikeyan 11th, and Petrov last . The y sit on the grid for an hour, but time has run out, and the race is ended.

I think there should be no penalties given out this weekend, ONLY if you post your predictions after the start of the race.

Yeah, I tried to post my predictions on Friday night, but lost out due to the outage too. Would I be able to get away without a penalty if I post them now? I saved what I'd predicted and can promise that they weren't influenced by Qualifying, or FP3.

I reckon 5 point penalty, he did have Vergne as the fall guy and it's a fairly strong chance that on any given weekend no one will be outside 107%.

Damn you and your voice of reason. I wanted to be a draconian overlord again

How about a 10 point penalty only?

I would suggest that a five point penalty is reasonably fair, in that it discounts the points that he might have gained through knowing what the results of qualifying were, but takes into account the fact that the forum outage hindered most posters who would have otherwise taken part.

Should we also discount any points that would be gained from making predictions about qualifying? In other words, the person posting can still gain points from predicting the order of the race, but cannot benefit from knowing who the pole sitter is in this instance.

Hold on - you did manage to put in a prediction on Friday shortly before the forums went down, so you don't have to skip this round.

Simple:
No points given for the "Pole", the "Fall Guy" and the "Non-Qualifiers" predictions.
In this case, you'll still be able to score points despite posting on Sunday before the race, while not getting penalized for posting it now.

I think it would be fine.
