It looks like the tyre problems were also related to Toleman's relationship with Pirelli, which had deteriorated to breaking point by that time (Toleman dumped Pirelli after that race and switched to Michelin). It seems that Pirelli were complaining that Toleman hadn't paid them for their tyres, so to begin with Toleman only had enough tyres for Cecotto to set a decent time; by the time the tyre dispute was settled and Senna could set a time his engine was misfiring heavily, which was why his times were so bad.

First custard parties with Bernie Ecclestone and Jerome D'Ambrosio, then an endless stream of memes, and now cooking programmes with Formula One drivers, I am afraid it seems you have come down with quite a case of it.

I advise a dosage of this to try and clear the system, but I can't guarantee it will work.
