Two drivers in a little over 10 minutes, not bad at all.

I genuinely live near a town called Westcliff so I (Douglas Mann - Manx) would like car no. 2! (Although by description alone I would have plumped for CR Motorsport...)

The Generic Times wrote:The season of the new World Race Series is now just weeks from beginning. Most of the teams have confirmed that they have at least 1 or 2 drivers signed for the year ahead of the first pre-season testing session at Donington Park in the UK. The team that is expected to do the best is JLD Motorsport, having signed a pair of Australians - Daniel Melrose and Dave Simpson. The Generic Times once again showed their incompetence as they were unable to get a comment from either driver - or anyone else involved with the sport. A few of the other teams have signed a pair of drivers: Rosenforth Engineering, Prospec, Club Bangelia Racing and West Cliff Racing. CR Motorsport, Kahama Motor Sport, Team Calinetic and KQ Motorsport have all only got one seat left, and that may be because they are expected to struggle for funds. An interesting fact is that some of the drivers, for example Sammy Jones for West Cliff and Daniel Melrose for JLD, have some major Formula 1 experience, with Melrose even winning the championship. This is set to be an interesting season.

Test 1 - Donington Park

The first test session is now complete, and it seems that Rosenforth, Prospec and JLD are showing the ability to win, with Prospec's Nathanael Spencer topping the charts with a best time of 1:10.17, 4 tenths faster than Rosenforth's Frank Zimmer. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the times, Club Bangelia is easily the worst of the two car teams, while West Cliff have one seemingly quick driver in Douglas Mann, and one who is not so quick in Sammy Jones. Here are the results for the first test session at Donington Park:

1 Prospec - Nathanael SPENCER: 1:10.17
2 Rosenforth Engineering - Frank ZIMMER: 1:10.58, +0.41
3 JLD Motorsport - Dave SIMPSON: 1:11.10, +0.93
4 Prospec - David KOCZO: 1:11.52, +1.35
5 West Cliff Racing - Douglas MANN: 1:11.95, +1.78
6 Rosenforth Engineering - Thomas DE BOCK: 1:12.40, +2.23
7 JLD Motorsport - Daniel MELROSE: 1:12.80, +2.63
8 CR Motorsport - Ashley WATKINSON: 1:13.26, +3.09
9 Club Bangelia Racing - Dan BH: 1:13.71, +3.54
10 Team Calinetic - Phoenix MCALLISTER: 1:14.20, +4.03
11 West Cliff Racing - Sammy JONES: 1:14.58, +4.41
12 KQ Motorsport - Hagane SHIZUKA: 1:15.10, +4.93
13 Kahama Motor Sport - Kay LON: 1:15.49, +5.32
14 Club Bangelia Racing - James DAVIES: 1:15.87, +5.70

So, it seems Prospec are the team to beat, with JLD and Rosenforth both having a pair of fairly quick drivers. Stay tuned for the next test session at Zandvoort.

I've just realised that this fits rather well with the Precision role play as the JLD team is German with Porsche engines and two of the team's junior drivers.

Test 2 - Zandvoort
Now, this session was weird, in that it seemed to render the last test pointless. While the fastest time was still that of a Prospec (David Koczo in 1:14.33), Team Calinetic stepped up with Phoenix McAllister setting the second fastest time. Club Bangelia's Dan BH was third, with Frank Zimmer of Rosenforth showing the only signs of consisitency in 4th. The JLDs were still fairly strong, but the West Cliff cars were well off Koczo's pace. KQ's Hagane Shizuka also set a fairly strong time despite the KQ's hybrid system. Here are the results:

1 Prospec - David KOCZO: 1:14.33
2 Team Calinetic - Phoenix MCALLISTER: 1:14.74, +0.41
3 Club Bangelia Racing - Dan BH: 1:15.23, +0.90
4 Rosenforth Engineering - Frank ZIMMER: 1:15.66, +1.33
5 KQ Motor Sport - Hagane SHIZUKA: 1:16.14, +1.81
6 JLD Motorsport - Dave SIMPSON: 1:16.59, +2.26
7 CR Motorsport - Ashley WATKINSON: 1:17.08, +2.75
8 Prospec - Nathanael SPENCER: 1:17.52, +3.19
9 JLD Motorsport - Daniel MELROSE: 1:18.00, +3.67
10 Club Bangelia Racing - James DAVIES: 1:18.50, +4.17
11 West Cliff Racing - Sammy JONES: 1:18.94, +4.61
12 Kahama Motor Sport - Kay LON: 1:19.42, +5.09
13 Rosenforth Engineering - Thomas DE BOCK: 1:19.87, +5.54
14 West Cliff Racing - Douglas MANN: 1:20.32, +5.99

Results for Phillip Island will up shortly.
