Because currently we don't have moderators who both A) visit this subforum and B) actually know how to sticky topics. Which is why I've offered myself for such a job.

Actually, while the current moderators lack in depth knowledge of how a phpBB forum operates, it would appear they actually have very few extra tools. It sounds like Jamie has given them an extremely restricted version of the Moderator privelege, as they do not have the ability to ban anyone either, which is really supposed to be the #1 function of a moderator on any internet forum.

The phpBB software has a choice called "Simple Moderator", which IIRC only gives very basic powers like editing posts and locking/merging topics, but nothing more. I guess our current mods have their rights set at that level. However "Full Moderator" would be far more viable, because with all due respect, J&E simply can't handle this forum on their own with the little free time they have.

I guess it's time to go to the HWNSNBM forum again and ask for more permissions to our moderators and/or more moderator vacancies.
PMMF Moderator, keeping that subforum tidy since 21st April 2013.

IFRC: not related to the charity foundation at all.
Life GP Series: where reliability is little more than a fancy word.

I've never noticed that option before, probably because I've just dismissed it as pointless and never looked into it before. I think this forum is suffering from a classic case of Japaneseitis, as when in Formula One, Toyota and Honda were notorious for refusing to delegate decision making to their German & British based motorsport divisions, and instead insisted on making decisions at board level in Japan, meaning everything was slow and disjointed. Change is required.

Go to the F1RWRS 2015 thread, as this is the old one, but Spencer has been recently sacked from the Boxtel team (just 2 weekends ago).
