Much better from Swerts, that's the kind of performance I want to be seeing from him, and that in turn will give Roberto the encouragement to build and develop his skills over the year. I'm hopeful that by the end of the season Roberto can be challenging for podium positions, but we'll wait and see. For Eric, I'm expecting nothing less than a championship challenge. The teams' championship may be a bit much for us, but it could be anybody's year so I'll be happy to be proven wrong on that front.

I have decided that I am not going to make videos of the races for 2015. You probably don't care, but what this means is that it is no longer necessary for me to run races to GP4's car limit. Basically, pre-qualifying is now abolished, and every car will take part in race 1 of each weekend. I will still probably cut the field like last year for race 2.

This also means that I will allow 2 more teams to enter, provided that they can give me a livery, at least one driver, and an engine choice by the 15th of August. The reserve list is thrown out the window, it will be based on who can get the most complete entries by then (i.e. I will be less like to give someone the entry if they give me the livery/driver/engine combo over someone who gives me the livery, both drivers, the engine and a chassis designation). Remember, it's not first two in, and the other teams can have a say of who gets it as well.

Can I re-enter with a Kamaha Junior team? Although I will need two skilled drivers (mainly as I used my entire driver allocation). I will probably use a Yamaha V8 engine and have a Yellow and Red on White livery.

With two more sports being opened in F3RWRS, Barii Mori has announced his intention to enter, he said "Once we heard the news, we typed our entry out as quickly as we can, we have alreadyh spoken to engine partners Yamaha who said they could design us an F3 engine in time for the new season, our new sponsors are also keen for us to enter too. We are hoping to use the team to help us find and develop talent. We currently have no junior drivers, but I am sure that they will be lining up now they hear that a top independent midfield F1RWRS team has an F3RWRS team. We will be looking for at least one Japanese driver and one from the Americas but will happily look at other talent.". However a F1RWRS insider has hinted that Barii Mori may be looking to retire at the end of the 2015 season if he does not get the results he wants and is looking for ways to get another driver.

Zytek delay new chassis
The new Zytek F3 chassis for the BITWM team has failed a crash test, Zytek were quick to fire off a press release saying "Zytek are disappointed with the crash test failure, but have found the cause of the failure and will be submitting a new chassis in time so the chassis can be ready for the next test.", Kay Lon was not around to comment.

Fusion Motorsports submit application for F3RWRS
After spaces were opened in the F3RWRS, Fusion principal Jake Legge officially submitted an application to join the series. He said "We hope the powers-that-be see what potential we have as a team. If Audi will allow us to use their engines, then we would like to pursue a partnership with them". Their chassis will be created in house, designated as the FM-01. Although the team is bankrolled by millionaire Mohammed al-Zayed, the team have signed new sponsorship deals with GAC Logistics and PepsiCo. They also plan to bring in Austrian Marko Jantscher who has experience in German F3, and Brazilian Leandro Moreira.

I can paint the car myself, assuming it's the GP2 template for Grand Prix 4.

Lancia are eager to work in conjunction with any new entrant, and should the project satisfy each of our demands on both ends, any customer signing an engine contract for us will have our full backing in the tender process.

Changes in the regulations have opened new spaces in the F3RWRS, and Plus CEO Luke Knight is keen to get on board. "I am grateful to the management for allowing us to enter" he said "and I am sure we can live up to expectations." The team will be using Rover engines*, and the chassis will be designed in house, and will be named the GoodCall-01. "We have signed an engine deal with Rover, and we will be designing our own chassis, which we feel is the right way forward." The squad plan to run Spaniard Marcos Marcia and the Swiss Franc Piscine.

While the commission in Madrid opened up the entry lists, the teams, now free from the worry of pre-qualifying, were at Lausitz doing some more testing. Everyone again went for race simulations, but when at Dubai they only did fairly short stints, here they went much longer with practice pit stops, as preparation for the three longer SuperPrix races. The Prospecs led the way, with Raul Souto Maior splitting them, and Eric Swerts and Daniel Melville just behind.

The main controversy of the day was turn 1, as cars often caught slower ones down the main straight and went for a pass down the inside. In some cases,
such as Tetsuya Takagi going inside Kevin Bainomugisha, there was no problem, the fastest car in the field in a straight line easily gunning past the slowest.

The big problems arose when the speed wasn't quite there, and two cars went side by side into turn 1. There were many collisions, but the biggest was Dorien Lamberigts, who got stuck on the outside of Alessandro Lucarelli. Wheel-to-wheel contact resulted in Lamberigts flying into the air and landing hard, with the damage unable to be repaired, and since it was at the start of her first flyer, she failed to set a time. In a majority of incidents, including the Lamberigts-Lucarelli one, fault rested with the driver on the outside, as the inside driver got well ahead yet the outside driver still tried to shut the door. In fact, Roberto Dinella was lucky it wasn't a race as he would have racked up enough penalty points to get a ban. The main exception was an incident between the Porto Wine cars, when Mondlane was on the outside. Cabral never even got past Mondlane's rear wheel and simply broke too late and speared straight into his teammate.

There will be a fourth test session, at Phillip Island, held just before the season kicks off in Adelaide (so, it could be a long time). This one will include the two new teams.

Good Call to take Lancia up on engine offer
Plus One CEO Luke Knight, has today announced that Good Call racing will take the offer of Lancia engines. "Il Barone Rampante and Lancia are two very professional racing organisations, and it will be a pleasure for us to work with them" he said "There is much that we [Plus One] can learn from a competent, high ranking squad such as Parma Corse. Seen as we are relatively new to the RWRS scene, it will be highly beneficial for us to have a support system with an established team." The bonuses will not be one-way, as Knight intends to pay good money for the engines, and also offer Plus One drivers to Il Barone Rampante. "As part of the deal, Il Barone Rampante, Scuderia Alitalia, and Parma Corse will receive first choice of any driver signed to the Plus One development scheme, after us, of course. I am aware they already have a wonderful and talented roster of young drivers, but idf any of ours takes their fancy, they know who to call." Knight was quick to dismiss any rumours of altercations between him and Il Barone Rampante CEO, Alasdair Lindsay. "Alasdiar [Lindsay] is a great fellow, and I am simply delighted to be able to work withsomeone of his calibre in motorsport. Il Barone Ramapante were once a small drop in the ocean, like Plus One is now, but the way Alsadair's crafted and shaped it into a front-running squad is simply unbeleivable." When asked what he thought of Lindsay, Knight said: "He's a great guy, and I feel we can get on together extremely well. He has voiced concerns over my management style, but that has been stitched up now, and I am extremely keen to begin a long and fruitful partnership between Plus One and IL Barone Rampante and sudsidaries.

At the time of creation I didn't know if we would get support, so I left spaces for Lancia Logos. Lappy, could you please add Lancia logos below the Drink responsibly sign on the airbox and on the nosecone, below Foster's. Thanks.

Mr.Alexander today announced who will be driving what in 2015, after both Bob Sampson and Calvin Brooks impressed in pre-season. "Bob showed good speed and has a knack for finding grip easily whilst Calvin impressed the team with his technical knowledge in setting the car up. Whilst the decision has been difficult, we have decided to give the second seat to Calvin. Our line-up is strong and we are confident for the season ahead. Bob will remain with the team as a test and development driver for both F3 and F2 teams and we will be looking to give him race time later in the year in one of the two teams. We now have a good mix of youth in the feeder teams, whilst experience and speed will pilot the F1 side."
