Jones Racing Officially Launches F3RWRS Team

This evening, Sammy Jones and his two young signings Terry Hawkin and Eric Swerts, were on hand at a presentation at the team's base in Banbury to present to the public the official unveiling of the team's 2014 F3RWRS challenger. Team boss Sammy Jones announced that technical partnerships already in place with Beta, Brembo and Sparco for his F1RWRS team would be carried over to the junior team, and that an engine supply deal with Volkswagen had been agreed to power the new car, the JR-300. On the team's fortunes, Jones said,

"I think we stand an excellent chance of at the very least scoring regular points, and I hope that from the start of the season we can be challenging for the podium and race wins. However with it being a completely new series, and with many new teams which are a bit of an unknown, we could have a few surprises on our hands. Nonetheless both Terry and Eric are raring to go for the new season and I can't wait to let them get out on the track and start getting some laps on the new car. We hope to complete a short testing schedule over the coming weeks in order to iron out any issues with the car before the season properly kicks off."

MA-Racing unveil junior team.

On the same day Mr.Alexander announced his F1RWRS line-up, the final deal has been completed for the junior team. "We are pleased to announce the signings of Massimiliano Torbani and David Neubert. We will leave the third car empty for the whole year, as our budget is already tight, but Steven Mackintosh will deputize for Massimiliano when he goes to the main team as part of his deal to race at Italy. We hope these youngters will cope with the occasion well, and continue their progress through the ranks."

Massimiliano Torbani, 18, Pescara, Italy: Massimiliano (Max) Torbani started in Italian Karts at the tender age of 13, winning the 50cc title at the first attempt. He then wrapped up the 100cc and the 150cc titles in the net two years. At 16, he joined Italian F3 team Zanzini, winning three races on the way to 6th in the Championship. Staying with Zanzini for another year, he won 9 races to win the title by 3 points. He joins MA-Racing's junior programme this year, looking to build on his early promise.

David Neuberg, 19, Hamburg, Germany: David was born in Hamburg but races under British nationality, having moved here with his family at the age of 2. David's father, Matthiäs Neuberg, is the wealthy owner of fast-food chain, Drubnik. David's career started mainly thanks to his fathers wealth, landing him a top seat in British F3 at the age of 16. Whilst David struggled early on with a littany of spins and crashes, his season ended well with a double podium at Thruxton. Staying with Tomak, he picked up four wins on his way to 5th in the Championship. His seat with MA-Racing brings much needed cash to the team, alng with his personal sponsor, Drubnik.

MRT to provide support for second team

Melrose Racing Team is expected to provide support for a second team in the F3RWRS with the team signing a deal with Christopherson Racing as part of a multi-lateral agreement with MRT/JLD, Christopherson and Jones Racing. Under the terms of the deal, JLD will provide one car for Christopherson's son Jack Jr to drive in the F3RWRS in exchange for the team's proposed second entry to become JLD's #75 car. Then, in 2015, Jones Racing will provide the chassis for all 3 teams with plans for MRT's engine workshop to provide engines for all 3 teams.

"The F3RWRS provides a fantastic opportunity for young drivers to prove their worth and this deal will ensure that these drivers will have a competitive package to prove their worth." Said MRT technical director Willy Rampf. When asked about whether this deal could extend to the F2RWRS or even the F1RWRS Rampf replied "For now there are no intentions for the deal to extend beyond the F3RWRS but the option is still open if either Sammy Jones or Jack Christopherson want to take it up."

Each round (except for the Surfers SuperPrix) consists of 3 races. The first race will be 20 minutes long, and will have 1-lap qualifying session to decide the grid. Race 2 will be 10 minutes long, and will be a reverse-grid race. Race 3 will again be 20 minutes, and will the grid will be based on average finishing positions in the first two races. Races 1 & 3 will have a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 points system, race 2 will be 10-6-4-3-2-1.

Kazama Confirmed For Prospec

Only a few days after the offer was made, the negotiations came to a fast closure and it was officially announced that Tomo Kazama will be the second driver for the Pemberton Prospec Racing F3RWRS Team. Kazama said that she was "sooooo excited!" and that career advancement only became possible because of "Kay, he's sooooo cool!".

Kay Lon thanked the team for its kind words towards him and added that is always is nice to be appreciated. Lon assured the public that he will aid the young drivers whenever it is possible and claimed tat although Michael Cameron might not be his student, but will "learn a lot from the best driver in the world".

ZimSport to run third car in F3RWRS
ZimSport today announced their intention to enter a third car in the inaugural F3RWRS season. The car, #33, will be driven by Jason Hamilton, and the extra facilities and money have seemingly been supplied for the entry by the Holden Racing Team. "We welcome Jason to the team for the season," said team principal John Zimmer. "He has proved his talent in his recent test with HRT, but not good enough for a drive in the F2RWRS. Regardless, we hope that Jason will bring success to us, along with Ryan and Carter." The announcement means George Liquor will retain his seat with the Holden Young Lions in the F2RWRS, although it is supposedly up for re-appraisal mid-season.

I'll have a pre-season test soon, so I need to know if:

a) There will be a second driver for Christopherson Racing.
b) There will be a second driver for Falik Arrows.

The first session will likely be at Snetterton.

If what we have heard is correct, then multiple F1RWRS race winner Dave Simpson will be starting a racing school for up and coming drivers looking to enter the F3RWRS series. The racing school would be set close to Simpson Motorsport's base on the Gold Coast. Other details are unknown of at this current stage.

F3RWRS Academy to take place this year
The rumours are true: the F3RWRS Academy idea proposed by Dave Simpson has became a reality with the unveiling of the Academy today at a media launch. The academy is not a racing school as rumoured, however it is a competition for 16 young drivers who otherwise may not have been able to secure an F3RWRS drive, mainly through a lack of funding. The vehicles to be used are a purpose built open wheeler prepared by Simpson Motorsports, with a 175hp Ford Zetec motor, similar to what is used in Formula Ford. The competition will be based in South-East Queensland and will be run on at least two tracks, with Queensland Raceway and Lakeside Raceway currently confirmed. Morgan Park has been suggested as a possible third venue as well. The top 3 drivers will then race for Simpson Motorsports as wildcard entries at the Surfers SuperPrix.
