The solution is simple: kiss and make up.

Ever since the year 2000 that whenever USA and F1 get together in the same sentence something goes wrong. Think about it:

Jaguar Racing - Not rejects but given they were owned by Ford and only got 2 podiums in 4 years it is a fail nonetheless.

Indy 2002 - Schumacher tries to cross the line with Barrichello only to gift Barrichello the win. Fail.

Indy 2005 - The lesser said about this the better. It was a hard to swallow fail though.

Scott Speed - Reject fail.

USF1 - Embarrassing fail.

Austin GP - Fail due to greed and, perhaps, stupidity?

He was on par with Liuzzi, and on occasion comfortably outdid him. Shows you how much F3000 had deteriorated by 2004, and in my eyes, is why Liuzzi being beaten by Ricciardo so soon is no surprise.

I never said that being on par with Liuzzi was a good thing ;). Although I respect those who think it is.

Fair enough! Just trying to point out that if Liuzzi is still in F1, then Speed should be as well.

Yes, but at least Liuzzi scored a point during their time together and has a better head-to-head race finishes. Arguably Liuzzi was a better driver and, road track wise, still is.

I don't think Scott Speed being such an unpleasant character did him many favours.

Yes, but F1 is desperately lacking any interesting personas these days...

Humm... Let's see, you have a guy who is part-time driver and full time farmer who takes care of his vineyards. You have two Dj's albeit only one is successful. You have an ongoing crash rivalry, you have a guy who keeps putting himself in trouble outside and inside the track. You have a guy who likes to play dirty and another who usually is a prick to his team-mate or anyone in general and at a same time a sore loser. Then you have a guy who supposedly glasses everyone that makes fun of him and another that likes to cry and complain about how unfair the world is to the cameras. I can't say I fully agree with you there...

I wouldn't say Scott Speed was interesting, just obnoxious. I certainly don't remember him making F1 more colourful, just whinier, and we have Hamilton for that these days.

Totally... I don't think F1 is desperately missing interesting personas, I reckon that's just one of those easy opinions to come out with. The top six are all pretty interesting personalities in their own way, plus we have the likes of Kobayashi, Smilin' Danny Ricciardo, Barrichello, NuSchumacher and Heikki, who all seem like fairly rounded people. Gone are the days of the mid '90s when everyone just seemed a bit bored by the whole thing. Schumacher aside, I always got a distinct, "Yeah, thanks, whatever" vibe on the podium.

Indeed. And the reason why most of them find a signature victory celebration that looks bland is because it is too risky doing otherwise. These days even possible podium and victory celebrations are written in the rule book and almost everything else is illegal...

The 1990s were better. Fact. And you bloody well know it.

Murray Walker: There's a car coming into the pits now, they're so unreliable with all those electronics on board.
James Hunt: Actually, Murray, one of his wheels has just fallen off...

As far as I can tell, Bernie first made those comments to Christian Sylt and Pitpass - who he frequently uses when he wants to play the political card. So I think it's fairly safe to say that there is an agenda in play here. Bernie has been pushing for a race in New York for years. Now that he's got it, he's not going to suddenly turn his back on it. Especially when he has gone out of his way to secure the futures of races (like Korea) that offer no apparent value to the championship.

Calm down, no need for such things in here. Family forum, right? ;)

Besides, it is just his opinion for what it is worth...

There is no need to be upset. I mean I would agree with anyone claiming you shouldn't have a F1 race at the Padborg Park but still I would love that to happen so you can handle New Jersey criticism as well
