21st: Deiter Hallenstien (Red Bull): +1:00.03
22nd: Cesar Vialpondo (Team Phoenix): +1:50.29
23rd: Jose Maria Cabral (Porto Wine): +1 LAP
DNF: Enrico Molinaro (Alitalia): Out of Fuel (L6)
Fastest lap: Shane Walsh (2:46.49)
Cameron went for the adventurous no refuel strategy that Walsh and Pitea used at Laguna Seca, and made it pay off here. OK, so by the pit stop phase on laps 4-6, he was second anyway, which made his drive seem all the better. The result means that Cameron loses the round to Simpson by one point, thanks to Simpson's pole at the start of the weekend. Further back, King did an excellent job of being a mobile roadblock, meaning 7 cars finished within less than a second. The only DNF was Molinaro, who was the poor sod who got to pit last in the Scuderia Alitalia stable, running out of fuel just as he got to Blanchimont.
Round 5 - Wrap-Up
Round Winner: Carter Simpson - 19 points, 1 win, 1 2nd and pole position.
The pole made the difference as the worst performer for ZimSport in the early part of the season takes their first round win, although his race 2 wasn't very convincing.
Reject of the Weekend: Team Asia
Both cars gone on lap 1 of race 1. Whoops...
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Weekend: Dan Greenlaw
Somehow he recovered from that Norisring smash to take solid points in races 1 & 3, and fastest lap in race 2.
