The Trackmania Rejects Rally Championship is a first foray into the sport of rallying for the Reject World Race Series franchise, the new pinnacle of rallying worldwide as a replacement for the now defunct World Rally Championship. 2015 will see the sport of rallying return to its former glory.
Do you have no idea whatsoever what Trackmania is? Watch the demo here.
The Format
A 10 round calendar will comprise the inaugural 2015 Trackmania Rejects Rally Championship. Each Rally will be made up of six stages, with one of these six nominated to be a power stage, to which points bonuses will be awarded. All entrants will be given a two week deadline to complete each rally.
Points will be awarded to the Top 10 finishers; 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. The power stage will give the following awards; 1st - 2 points, 2nd - 1 point.
Times will be recorded from each stage, and combined to generate an overall rally time. The quickest in the overall time will win the event, the second quickest overall will take second, and so on.
Each driver sets their six stage times within a two week period, and sends all replays to the TMRRC Commissioner for review. Anyone who does not complete a stage will be given the time of the slowest driver of said stage, with an added penalty of 30 seconds. Any driver who fails to complete a single stage will be excluded from the rally, and penalised 5 points in the drivers championship, unless said driver has notified the TMRRC Commission of their absence from the event before the rally begins.
Entry
Due to the nature of the series, there is no limit to the amount of entires. There will be three trophies to compete for; the TMRRC Drivers Championship, Teams Championship and Nations Cup. Each team can have up to three drivers, with two nominated to score points at each rally. Each user gets one driver (as you are doing the driving, not the computer).
Coverage
The Trackmania Rejects Rally Championship will have unprecedented levels of TV Coverage for an RWRS event, with highlights programmes in High Definition after every event. The highlights package will broadcast all six stages, with every driver facing off against each other at the same time, on the same stage.
Equipment
Any modern desktop computer can easily handly Trackmania, and most laptops as well, but netbooks are not advised. The resolution you can run may be lower on old or low spec machines, but this will not affect the speed of your car in-game or during replays sent to the commission. The game can be downloaded for free here. All competitors MUST use the car skin corresponding to the driver's country of origin (this is automatically selected when registering for the first time, but can be changed using in-game menus). The game can be operated by keys or an external joypad/steering wheel.
