Nah. LDM are still a bunch of incompetent fools. I mean, who else can get thrown out of the development series for breaking the testing ban?

When were LDM ever in the development series? Dumbrell started the team when he bought Tasman's REC in late 2009.

Apparently they do have an entry going by the V8s' steward summary for this weekend:

Matter arising from DUNLOP SERIES – Round 1 Adelaide

Following an investigation and an admission by Lucas Dumbrell Investments, that Car #300 had tested without permission at a venue (being “any road, surface or track upon which an automobile can be driven”) other than at a V8 Supercars Test Day, as revealed by a check of the ECU, and that the Car had been withdrawn from the series, the Stewards after considering all the relevant circumstances imposed a Fine of $10,000 totally suspended until 31/12/12.

Kristian Lindbom's one of those drivers who raced in the Aussie F3, and is thus actually non-existent
Although that doesn't say they got kicked out by V8SC, just that the team withdrew the entry for the rest of the year (which makes sense, since one of these days they're not going to be able to repair their car, they'll need the spare chassis). And there is no testing ban, some of the teams tested at Winton during the summer (OK, mostly they were the junior teams of FPR, HRT and SBR, but I think MW and maybe Sonic were there too). Although I do recall them getting a similar fine last year for not informing V8SC about a ride day they held...

Then again, we have conclusively proven time and time again that the V8 Supercar Officials don't really have any consistency when it comes to actually applying the rules (See Surfers last year for further details  )

And that time when a bit came loose on Tander's car, they black flagged him but then it fell off and they let him keep going, only for the same thing to happen to Courtney and they made him come in anyway

Either that or the second HRT seat really is as cursed as you and I say it is.

It was 2010 I think, I remember the Ford fans were really pissed off about it because Tander won that race, while Courtney had been in a spot to win instead.

Qualifying has been completed, and I have two things to say:

Number 1: Suck it, Whincup :D

Number 2:
"Michael, the Frenchman is faster than you."

If Davison walks away from this race with just a 25 point penalty, it'll be everything that's wrong with the race officials. Lowndes has lost at least 130 points from that, and a drive through right now will cost Davison 50-100.

Not really. I know Taz quite well and he is a great guy, but in comparison to Warren Luff he is simply not as quick. For the first few seasons LDM has had a fairly sub-standard chassis. This chassis was one of the first VE chassis to be made by Walkinshaw, and has been involved in a couple of hefty shunts in it's time- including the Paul Radisish Bathurst warm-up crash in '08. Walkinshaw has been synonymous in recent years for supplying average chassis to customer teams and this was no exception. Even when James Courtney drove it at the Winton test prior to Bathurst last year (in an effort to 'sort it out' before Walkinshaw lost their business) James was reported to be quite shocked at how bad it was when compared to his factory car.

The team now runs Triple 8 gear and has employed a number of new full-time guys in the off season. It's not so much that the level of driver has increased, it's more that the teams gear has become serious. If I were Warren Luff right now, I'd be kicking myself for walking out on them!

Can't agree with this. The racing line into turn four naturally moves from the left hand side of the circuit to right hand side. Thomas Mazera spoke specifically about this issue at the drivers briefing on Saturday morning- he stressed that the car in front has the right to move from the left to right, and if you're game enough to stick your nose in from behind there you will be to blame. Sorry, but Davison wasn't at fault in this one. The one thing that frustrated me the most about this incident was when Mark Skaife immediately blamed Davison for 'taking' Lowndes- Skaife's recent teammate- out of the race, whereas Neil Crompton (who was at the drivers briefing, whilst Skaife was not) was far more accepting to Davison's actions.

Rant; Over.
