6 Hour Update

David Brabham
Attained the lead in LMP2 in the Highcroft Patron Acura, until swapping for Simon Pagenaud.

Eric Van De Poele
Is sharing a GT2 F430 with Paul Tracy and his hovering around the midfield mark in that category.

The Pugs are still romping it.

3 Hours to Go

Eric Van De Poele
Is up to 15th Overall, but still 8th in the GT2 class.

David Brabham
and his LMP2 car has struck issues while leading that class, it is 3 Laps ahead, but its still precious time slipping away.

Anthony Davidson
Is currently heading the two Pugs, the 908s are operating like Metronomes, its a case of which driver partnership is the fastest as the night draws in.

Hour and Half to go

Its looking safe for the 908s, Alex Wurz is now behind the wheel of the car belonging to Anthony Davidson and Marc Gene, ahead of Sebastien Bourdais in Peugeot #2 with Pedro Lamy and Nic Minassian waiting for the end.

David Brabham's car fell victim of a minor technical item that became a major gremlin for the team, 5 laps behind the LMP2 class leader.

Gianmaria Bruni is now waiting for Pierre Kaffer to bring home the GT2 Ferrari ahead of both the American run BMW cars.

Jan Magnussen has been very quiet in the race, the once dominant Corvette team looking like toothless tigers in the rundown of this big enduro.

CRASHERU!!!
As the finishline gets closer, Bourdais spins the #08 Pug and almost takes out the other 908 of Wurz, both cars having recently pitted for the home run.

Both cars able to continute, Bourdais now 20 seconds behind Wurz, with 35 minutes to go.

Speak of the angel, I recently had to do an English essay on 'People who Inspire Me'.

Needless to say, I wrote about Zanardi. He's such a real-life hero it hurts sometimes.

I know there are other threads about the Superleague Formula, but I think updates would be appropriate in this thread.

Not only has Franck Montagny signed on to drive the Bordeaux car (as discussed elsewhere), but Narain Karthikeyan (not a reject but close) has now signed to drive the PSV Eindhoven car, run by Jan Lammers of all people!

Meanwhile Robert Doornbos will be driving the Corinthians car, and Emilio de Villota will be running two cars for Sevilla and AS Roma.

Honourable non-F1 mention goes to Chris van der Drift, who will drive the Olympiacos car, and who has the second-best name in motorsport behind Scott Speed.

On a whim, I've decided to compile a list of all rejects active in various series this year (including one-off appearances). I'm not saying this is complete but it's a good guide of what series to look out for in 2010.

Superleague Formula: Montagny, Doornbos, Lammers, de Villota (the last two in a management capacity)
GT1 World Championship: Deletraz, Enge, Bartels, Bernoldi
Indycars: Wilson (also Sato on an honorary basis)
Formula Nippon: Ide
Le Mans Series: Gounon, McNish, Davidson, Sarrazin, Montagny, Boudais, Lamy, Lavaggi, Bruni
Le Mans 24 hours: Davidson, Sarrazin, Montagny, Bourdais, Lamy, McNish, Brabham, Noda, Magnussen, Bruni, Beretta, van de Poele
American Le Mans Series: Brabham, Davidson, Bourdais, Lamy, Magnussen, Beretta, van de Poele
Grand Am: Papis, Lamy, Bourdais, Magnussen
Japanese Super GT: Firman, Ide
NASCAR: Papis, Speed
DTM: Winkelhock
WTCC: Tarquini
Superstars: Naspetti, Schiattarella, Chiesa
Argentinian TC2000: Fontana
Brazilian Stock Cars: Pizzonia, Burti
Andros Trophy (finished for 09-10 season): Belmondo, Grosjean, Lagorce

There you go, 16 series. That's why we keep one-eighth of each eye on each of them.

It seems Bernoldi will not particpate in GT1 world championship, but worry not we've got another (fresh) reject to replace him.

Christien Klien surely, the ones that scrape out of Reject status with 3 x 6th places should be high on the scale rather than the ones that achieve it in one go.

How about Jean Christophe Bouillon, He only scored 3 points in a decent Sauber and one of those was at Italy when he passed Max Papis on the last lap.

The italian Superstars touring car championship (the italian version of BTCC) offers plenty of rejects this year:

Schiattarella
Morbidelli
Naspetti
Chiesa

I'll follow the series and I'll provide reports for the forum, as it promises good action and reject potential with 33 drivers and 8 marques.

Starts tomorrow in Monza!

Also, the BTCC is NOTHING like the Superstars V8 series, for starters there are no V8s in the BTCC, and I'm also confident that these things are quicker than them.

Also 33 cars and 8 different Manufacturers! That doesnt happen in the modern BTCC these days.

Race is not so much rain delayed as apocalyptic plague delayed.

Rain is just as bad as it was during the red-flagging at the Sambadrome

Sky Sports UK coverage sticking to the trusty lackadaisical approach to live coverage, Keith Heuwen is again joined by freelancing (freeloading) GT driver Johnny Mowlem, and another IndyCar expert (!?) Piers Maserati.

Indycar Round 2 Result

Justin Wilson finished 2nd behind Will Power, the very personally determined aussie has now won 2 in a row.

Takuma Sato also had 2 in a row, he's retired twice in two races.

Stockar dos Brasil
someone will correct me on my grammar there surely

Haven of the Brazilian F1 Reject....
Luciano Burti
Antonio Pizzonia

No doubt soon the return to Brazil of Nelson Piquet Jnr. But with the Singapore Slinger in the wars in NASCAR's truck series, we are left with the likes of Riccardo Zonta and Christian Fitipaldi.

Its also worth mentioning a driver with a name such as ALAN HELLMEISTER!!!

Paulista ALAN HELLMEISTER drives the #2 Peugeot.

As of race 1 in Interlagos, none of the Rejects have had an impact on the points standings whatsoever, the race itself being won by F1 Tester and V8 Supercar driver MAX WILSON.

The ADAC GT Masters had its season start at Oschersleben this weekend with F1 Reject Michael Bleekemolen (61 Years Old). Unfortunately the first race for the Dutchman and his partner Roland van de Laar didn't went to successful, they didn't manage to get their Porsche 911 in the Top 10, being classified 13th one lap down

Its an All-Reject front row for:

The 8 Hours of Paul Ricard

Allan McNish
The popular Scot and
Stefan Sarrazin
The Much Maligned Mono Minardi-ist

Will be on the front row in the Audi R15+ and Peugeot 908 Diesel respectively.
Race starts soon.

The race will be held on (almost) the original F1 layout with the full-length Mistral straight, no chicanes, to simulate the non turny bits of Le Mans.
