Join the club. Didn't stop me from starting up one though. Really bad timing by me, I doubt I'm going to touch it again until next weekend.

I panicked because I didn't find the thread in the McCarthy forum, but figured Enoch hadn't finished transferring every thread. Anyway...

I know. it looks like he's staying there a long time, because then-active drivers are all further back than we would hope (of the top 10, only Ganley was still active, but he won't be active for long).

I usually do tasks on my computer in some sort of cycle. Now, I've decided to focus on this until I reach 1999, in which I'll be able to post the results at the same time as the medals championship. I should be able to post 1977 by tomorrow at noon at the latest.

Laffite was 3rd despite winning a race? That's mad!

28 years in the top-10 for Claes, and still counting!

Laffite, when he didn't have a good race, was prone to disastrous starts to the race, spending a fair bit of laps in last catching up to the backmarkers.

This time, it's the end for Claes, after a record 28 straight seasons in the top-10. Trintignant is on 27 seasons, 26 of them consecutive. It looks like he'll take on the mantle of longest standing driver in the top-10, but no one will forget Johnny. The Award has been renamed after it's first great. Meanwhile, Jarier looks set to be the 4th man to cross the 300-lap mark...

I am amazed at Jack Brabham. I guess he spent a few seasons in crappy machinery...

The problem with this award is that he didn't. With this, all you need is a hell-of-a long career and 1 or 2 horrendous races per seson to score high in the all-time standings.

He came in at the halfway point of the season in a Fittipaldi that was towards the back, but reliable.

Keke Rosberg didn't drive for Fittipaldi until 1980. He drove for Theodore and ATS in 1978.

Poor Emerson gets in the top 10, which is rather ironic for a man that in popular culture simbolizes sheer driving skill :(

Watch out for Barrichello, Schumacher, Patrese, Coulthard, Fisichella, Alboreto (Michele could particularly be a dark horse).
Go home, Bernie Ecclestone!

By Schumacher, do you mean Michael or Ralf? Can't really see how either of them fit that description to be honest!

Think you can add Trulli (14 seasons) to that list too!!

Top 10 still includes eight Grand Prix winners. Jarier and Lammers are the non-winners at this point.

I know he was driving a Toleman but he got three podiums! (And he's infront of Ghinzani for heavens sake, and Mauro Baldi in a Spirit!! :o :) )

And Cecotto in the other Toleman only manages 10 laps and he's not exactly in Senna's class is he? :)

Remember the flaws of this championship. All you need is one bad race to score high, and that's exactly what happened here. I can't remember which race it was, though.
